Movie Maker project files are not playable anywhere. They are only playable on the computer where you have been editing the project.
In order to be able to play a video created by Movie Maker on another computer, you need to export it to a .wmv file. This is actually pretty easy. Just follow the instructions below:
- Open Windows Movie Maker and load the project you want to export.
- Click "File," "Save Movie As," then wait for the browse window to load onto the screen.
- Title the video file, then select a location where you want to save the file.
- Click the format pull-down button at the bottom of the screen, then choose "WMV" as the desired format. Select "OK" and the Windows Movie Maker program will export your video as a .wmv file.
